Minneapolis Community & Technical College
Amano McGann, Inc. is proud to be part of the parking ramp expansion project as this downtown Minneapolis college. MCTC wanted a system that allowed for multiple pay-at-entry options with integration to several on-campus payment systems. The Amano McGann Debit Access Control System was the perfect solution.
MCTC is utilizing proximity access, while their sister school across the river was using magnetic stripe for food service, copiers, vending machines, etc. Each campus had students assigned to different student ID numbers, but wanted them to be able to use one card for everything - and keep all the data accurate! The Amano McGann solution included Indala ISO-Prox proximity cards with a magnetic stripe. This allowed proximity display card readers for parking access, the magstripe for encoding and use at the existing magnetic stripe card readers, and the ability to print a student ID picture with barcode on the card as well.
All of these custom software requirements were provided in a cost effective manner and, most importantly, according to the timeline provided by MCTC. The full system, including AGP-1710 autogates, AGP-5210 fee computers, PRX-280M proximity display card readers, directional signage, and related materials were installed in accordance with the construction schedule and has been exceeding the customer's expectations. According to staff on-site, revenue projections for the first year will exceed that of any year in the past!
