Minneapolis Central Library
Amano McGann Minneapolis was awarded the parking control system contract for the new City of Minneapolis Central Library in downtown Minneapolis. The project includes automated ticket dispensers, proximity card readers, automated pay-on-foot stations, automated exit stations, access control gates and Amano McGann Software Systems. The $125-million project is providing a facelift along the Hennepin Avenue area of downtown.  The award winning design by renowned architect CesarPelli includes a 58-foot-7-inch, 90-ton "wing" which extends over the street more than 100 feet off the ground.  The new library will house a 2.4-million-item collection, which is the largest public library in Minnesota.  In fact, it will be the 4th largest in the country.  The new library is scheduled to open in the spring of 2006.
